Jdownload.org was created in response to a need for a quality website that offers free direct downloads of various Japanese media. Bittorrent is too slow, and no one has the bandwidth to offer direct downloads of larger files like Japanese dramas (Jdorama).

It would be wonderful if we could offer all the downloads you want without having to do anything in return. However, bandwidth can get expensive, (especially when you are dealing with 250MB+) and so we have to have a way to limit the number of downloads somehow. We do this via the point system. You get points by participating. Anything from chatting in the forums, to voting in the pole, to submitting new content for the site gets you points. You can then redeem your points to download whatever content you want.

There is a lot of concern over whether or not it is right to download media without paying the people who made it. That is why we only offer items that are not currently being marketed by the creators in America. For this reason we do not offer normal songs which could be purchased at a reasonable price online, or anime which is sold in many stores in America as well as online. If you own the copywrite to a download available on this website and want it taken down, please e-mail the staff and we will remove it shortly.
